Beccariophoenix madagascariensis fenestralis
[Beccariophoenix fenestralis]

'Beccariophoenix'

[ Palmae ] [ Madagascar ]

\'Giant Window Pane palm\' would be a cumbersome, but appropriate common name for this Madagascan beauty. Young plants have large, entire, grass-green leaves with slits or \'windows\' in them, making the plant instantly recognisable. Easily grown in warm to tropical climates, it would also make a superb conservatory specimen.
